[How To] SEGA Genesis/Megadrive emulation (GENS) in Linux (Ubuntu/Mint/Debian)

Short tutorial covering Download, Installation & Set-up of Gens – SEGA Genesis/Megadrive emulator.

In the middle of the ’90 SEGA’s Genesis a.k.a. Megadrive was a main competitor to the throne of 16bit console “king” against the mighty Super Nintento. The competition between the consoles spawned loads of quality games on both machines that kept us entertained through our teenage years. Sadly SEGA did not manage to bethrone the Nintendo Behemoth and its Megadrive/Genesis console was the last one that SEGA actually made any profit on. One way or another, here’s your chance to sample the 16bit gaming at its best with Genesis/Megadrive emulation on your Linux machine. All explained in simple & easy to follow steps with subtitles and in less than 5 minutes from finding it on the net to running games on a set-up emulator.

When you download for Ubuntu, Mint or Debian Linux Distributions make sure you download the .deb file as it’s already precompiled for your distribution and much easier & faster to install.
