  • I've found this video recently, but my problem is different. I need to return speaker sound to mic so that I can automatically transcribe my audio files. I've installed JACK and pipewire effect, but it has been a puzzle for me to run them. I use Fedora (34) btw. Any help? Thanks!

  • What version of Ubuntu is this? It's looking like 16.04 but this video is 7 years old…

  • My requirement is such that whenver I plug in my headset, I want my default sound input to switch to headset's mic. I tried setting it up the way you demonstrated but it did not work. Any other way out?

  • Thanks! I hate when I have to install a software JUST TO CHANGE DEFAULTS !! Anyways, Thanks

  • neither am i getting this app on store nor does that pavucontrol working on my linux.

  • Thank you that helped. Not persisting stuff is such a painful problem on linux

  • Nice !!

but it tells me : speakers : not disponible

  • If it is not working after installing this program, try running in cmd "alsamixer". A window will pop. Here you have some settings about speakers, headphones, mic, mic boost, etc. If under "Speakers" it writes "MM" it means that your speakers are set to mute. Using arrow keys go to "Speakers" and press 'm' on your keyboard, the "MM" will transform in " 00", that means the speakers are on, after that you press arrow up to volume up and that's it. I spend some time solving this problem and combining this video with 'alsamixer' worked for me.

  • How to reduce static microphone noise in Ubuntu?
