ip address
Here is a list of FAQ's and Helpful comments that will help you troubleshoot:
1.) The file you need to edit is the INI file. It is deeper in the folder.
2.) Am I able to bring over my save data files from an official public NA server and copy those files onto my own dedicated server so that I can essentially have an exact copy of my progress from an official server? NO. this could added later.
3.) Does the computer have to be running for server to work. YES, it has to be on at all times.
4.) The IP address I am mentioning in the video is the EXTERNAL IP. NOT the local IP. I mispoke in a part of the video. (My bad)
5.) Port forwarding is CRITICAL for this to work. Make sure you are following your ISP's directions exactly.
6.) How do I find my server in the server list. As stated in the video, this should work BUT for some reason it took mine like 2 hours to even show up in search. I would recommend that you just give them the PUBLIC IP you inserted and have them join directly.

Question: friends on other networks cant join……..wtf am i doing wrong. gave them my ip, and they enter it and it says the server timed out.. but I'm ON the server at the time they try
16 hours trying to get this to work… nope
I'm trying to do the IP port forwarding stuff and spent hours to no success, in the server config file I have the public IP (PublicIP=""), I'm using Verizon for internet and my port forwarding asks for the following,
Application: (PALWORLD)
Original Port: (8211)
Protocol: (TCP/UDP, mine just says Both)
Fwd to Addr: (My Local IP, I tried the external too just in case but the same issue occurred)
Fwd to Port: (8211)
Schedule: Always
I added 2 more for the other numbers you listed and tried running the dedicated server but keep getting "CreateBoundSocket: ::bind couldn't find an open port between 27015 and 27015"
Can anyone whos set this up on Verizon give any idea on what could be wrong?
Excellent tutorial, thank you
all of my ini files are empty and there is nothing to change in them. how can i edit server settings. ive already started the server and made a character on the server
can i change the publicip to work with a logmein hamachi ip
I want the pc I game on and the pc the server on to be separate…. how??
do i need to buy 2 copies of palworld to host it on a separate pc?
hi im trying to setup my own server but i dont know what to put in for my global port range and base host port. any tips?
dude THANK YOU!! The two extra ports are not mentioned anywere
how do I add a domain to the serveR?
they asked for internal and external port so what number shld i put
any recommendation for hosting services?
What if I did all this and my friends can not connect even if the server is open and I can as well as my wife?
Got it! after 3 hours.. Damn that port step! one question. why the other 2 ports past the 8211 one?
On a different game i used a different port so how can i use that port insteaf of the other one
yeah but the question is how can i keep the server running without the need to keep my pc on 24/7
are we using IPv4 or WAN IP?
The part where you type ipconfig to get your IP address is wrong. The way to get your public IP address is by typing in Google "what is my IP" and it will show you your PUBLIC IP address the provider has given you. That's the one you should put in the file and that's the one you should share with your friends. The IP that is being returned from ipconfig is your LOCAL (internal) IP address, it's only for your PC and has absolutely no meaning for anyone outside of your network.
After the update. This doesn’t work for me anymore and I can’t seem to log back into my server.
Is there a way to change the version the server is playing on? I want to use v1.2 instead of v1.3
My friends can't seem to join my server and they keep getting a "connection timeout" error. Any issues of as to what that might come from?
mine just says couldn't find an open port between 27015 and 27015 when launching the sever.
Great video thank you dude, I would make a quick change and update the IP address wording as you've said your IP and not public IP.. and that you need to update the server ini file. – copy and paste from the local file to the server file
and for some reason, I cant find a way to input a password?
Having Troubles getting others to connect, it works fine for me but not my friends
It worked awesome! That's a sub for sure, if anyone has a BGW210 I can help perhaps.
I'm able to join the server I created but all my friends got server timeout problem, any idea how to fix?
is it possible to transfer my multiplayer world progress that I have with a friend to a dedicated server that I create?
My friends can't connect to my server no matter what i do. I restarted the computer, i restarted the internet, i have quintuple checked that the ports are open and correct. I am able to connect and it seems to show and reperesent all of the server settings i set, but nobody else can connect.
Has anyone confirmed this works? The guide has you entering your LAN private IP address inside quotes asking for a public IP. I can't wrap my head around that working, you should need your actual public IP address and the port you used for the port forwarding. Just google "how to find my public IP address".
I don't know that I want to open a port on my router for Palworld so I can't confirm myself but figured I'd put in my 2 cents in case this is not working for you.
does anyone know how to port forward using spectrum internet?
Question. When launching it does not give us an option to enter a password. It just gives a prompt that says "No Password has been entered" ????? What do I do here?
hello so i was following the guide but for some reason it wasnt letting me use the admin password to gain access how am i able to fix this if there isnt how do i recent and make a new server
can people on xbox join the server?
About the ip, at 4:10 did you just add the private ipv4 as the public ip? Shouldn't you enter your public one instead?
So I won a nitrado server. To get it to work would I just put the server IP address in the public IP address spot?
If i use a Low Spec laptop to run the server, will this effect performance of the server?
but how much wam do i need to wun a dedicated sewvew?
Everything is fine, but I have a question. Will it kick other players out of the game as soon as I close the "Dedicated server app"? Or can my friends join this server and play while I'm away?
Does anyone know if you can put someone on the Xbox and PC on the same server?
hi! thanks for going through all this , the video is very intuitive and looks easy enough to set up.
but the quest i have is if even with a dedicated server. my pc has to be running the dedicated server in order for my friends to join ? meaning the pc has to be running to begin with
meaning if i were to have 3 other friends , i would be better off playing Peer to Peer multiplayer where i provide the code whenever i online compared to setting up a whole dedicated server in which i have to be online also for them to play
Does the host only need to do this or all parties involved need to do it as well? Me and my friend want to grind but not always on at the same time
How much processing power does this take? Thinking about running this while I play or on my old computer while I play on my newer one.
I forwarded my ports, I've set my IP for DMZ in my router, I've done EVERYTHING and my friends can't join my server. I'm at my wits end. I have no idea what to do.
i have an option for internal and external ports. what should i put in the internal port option? wont let me save without entering something there
I love you
