  • OK,I'll add my recent(today)experience.I use a windows 7 HP Intel Centrino(64 bit 3 GB-as per my techie nephews that's as much ram as this can go to)laptop primarily for the internet.I tried a 32 GB flash drive and it said not available for use with ReadyBoost. So,i tried my 2 TB flash drive.I can tell a difference. Now ignore the caps coming up.These were notes as i tried different programs to see if a difference:
EBAY-PAGE SCROLLING LOADS FASTER WITH VERY LITTLE LAG
YOUTUBE VIDEOS LOAD AND PLAY FASTER
    MOZILLA-LOADS FASTER
    GOOGLE GMAIL MUCH FASTER
PAINT SHOP PRO FILE BROWSER MUCH FASTER
Junior 7 chess program loads much faster
    CCLEANER (FREE VERSION)FASTER
Now,I did click on 'Dedicate' this flash drive for this use and i'll leave it attached.Very happy!I have never messed with SSD cards and see no need to try them at this point!Soon(since this works)I'll probably do the same with my little Lenovo laptop.Has 4 GB of ram and I have it setup to run YOUTUBE TV hooked into my HD TV.It works!

  • Just built a new system i7 4770k with 2 gig ram and win 7. 4x ssd raid 0 and used a 3rd ssd for redyboost. Im now jamming at 1080 p on a gtx 970 at 60 fps totaly smooth. Eatadik MS

  • In WIN7 it takes <1 minute with NO Readyboost SIZE LIMIT [only that of the stick]. _Steps: 1)select "Computer", 2)Select the Drive & Right click, 3)select "Format", 4)select "File System= exFAT", 5) select "START" …and you're DONE!!~. _ExFAT was determined to be the fastest/best in multiple forums for a couple of specific reasons, and I agree.__I personally now have another 32G of LEXAR usb ReadyBoost horsepower, woohoo!!!~

  • When implementing ReadyBoost, I would recommend using a C10 or U1 speed SD or microSD card rather than a USB device. This has the added advantage of not having a USB device protruding from the computer as well as increased speed benefits.

  • Instead of using a USB stick, use an SD card because it doesn't stick out as much.

  • For some reason no browsers on my old windows 7 laptop will open.It just..Freezes.

  • I have 2 flash drives of 64Gb… can it really really help me in gaming?

  • I had an old computer that had only 1gb of ram. I used my USB stick to boost the ram by 4gb. And boy the computer works much faster. Before, my computer used to labour like crazy and would often crash.
