How to use the RANDBETWEEN Function In Excel

In Microsoft Excel, the RANDBETWEEN function is a Math and Trigonometry Function, and its purpose is to return a random number between the numbers you specify. The formula for the RANDBETWEEN function is RANDBETWEEN (bottom, top).

In this tutorial, we will explain how to use the RANDBETWEEN function. The Syntax for the RANDBETWEEN function.

• Bottom:  The smallest integer that the RANDBETWEEN function will return. It is required.
• Top: The largest integer that the RANDBETWEEN function will return. It is required.

How to use the RANDBETWEEN function

Open Microsoft PowerPoint.

Create a Table.

In the cell where you want to place the result type =RANDBETWEEN(A2, B2).

A2 is the cell that contains the bottom, which is the smallest integer.

B2 is the cell that contains the Top, which is the largest integer.

Press enter on the keyboard to see the result and drag the fill handle down to see the other answers.

There are two other methods to use the RANDBETWEEN function in Excel.

Method one is to click the fx button on the top left of the excel worksheet.

An Insert Function dialog box will appear.

Inside the dialog box in the section, Select a Category, select Math and Trig from the list box.

In the section Select a Function, choose the RANDBETWEEN function from the list.

Then click OK.

A Function Arguments dialog box will open.

In the Bottom section, input into the box the cell A2.

In the Number section, input into the box the cell B2.

Then click OK to see the result.

Method Two is to click the Formulas tab and click the Math and Trig button in the Function Library group.

In the list, click RANDBETWEEN.

A Function Arguments dialog box will appear.
