HP EliteBook Windows 10 Re-Install and Boot Repair For Linux Peppermint 10
In this video I will be Re-Installing Windows 10 on my HP EliteBook which is already existing in a dual boot scenario with Peppermint 10, It’s the only machine I have running Windows 10 and it was having extreme update issues and a Re-Install was the only option. These two operating systems have co-existed on this machine for more than 4 years and I have been through a few updates for both, this time I thought I would share the experience. This scenario is worse case, Re-Installing Peppermint is a simple process, however Windows 10 will definitely wipe out the boot grub for Peppermint and can sometimes be a real chore to get grub up and running again, I will be repairing grub with Boot Repair using an Ubuntu 20.04.2 live desktop to achieve this goal, however trying to Re-Install grub to a specific partition was too difficult and I had to try a chroot process which didn’t really go to plan, I eventually got grub working again with boot repair using the defaults, I’m not sure if installing grub while in the chroot process aided in the help of this repair?
