HyraCom – Multiple Redundant Long Range Radio (BVLOS) Transmission (4G LTE + Sub GHz)

Early Prototype test of our new 4G (LTE) + 868 Mhz (for redundance) radio control. Supports 16 channel hand controllers (connected via trainer port) like Taranis X9D+, output as S-Bus Signal on air unit. Provides two additional serial (UART) interfaces (57600 Bd + up to 230400 Bd (via mobile link)). Ground unit shows basic telemetry Information (derived from MavLink protocol) + map. Can be used standalone or connected to an additional ground control station (e.g. Mission Planner or QGC) via Bluetooth.

Final version will also support HD video link. Transmission range is almost unlimited as long as you have mobile network receiption on both ends. 868 MHz link acts as fallback in case 3G/4G Network is unavailable or has too high latency. Solution has a typical latency of about 100 – 200 ms on 4G and about 100 – 300 ms on 868 Mhz. Sub Ghz range depends on environment and national restrictions. 868 MHz module is CE and ETSI conform. In other countries 915 MHz modules with higher Radio power may be allowed.

Sub Ghz radio transmission is encrypted and range can be extended with additional nodes acting as a mesh network.

Update: Solution also supports 2,4 GHz fallback and HD video now. For further details see: http://www.kopterkraft.com/index.php/hyracom
