Installing MX Linux VM on a Chromebook
We’ve had a lot of requests for a walkthrough of installing a Linux distro on Chrome OS. So, we decided to go with the most popular distro out there. MX Linux is a Debian-based Linux distribution with a medium footprint and a user-friendly interface. Installing it on a compatible Chromebook is simple and the OS works quite well inside the VM. See below for download links and terminal commands.

Install Virtual Machine Manager on your Chromebook(run this command in your Linux terminal) –
sudo apt install qemu-kvm libvirt-clients libvirt-daemon-system bridge-utils virtinst libvirt-daemon virt-manager -y
Note: you will need to check your Linux kernel version in the Linux container. You will need to have kernel 4.19 or higher for this to work properly.
