Installing Oracle Instant Client for Development on Linux
How to install Oracle Instant Client on Linux for development with C based applications – this applies to popular scripting languages such as Ruby, Node.js, Python, PHP, Perl and R. Instant Client allows the Oracle Database drivers and adapters for these languages to connect to a remote or local Oracle database.
The first two minutes give an overview of Instant Client. After that, installation is demonstrated.
