Internet and World Wide Web | Introduction to Internet and WWW | Exploring My Computer |

An Internet is just an interconnections billions of computers around the world that brings all systems together.
We are accessing the internet through the browsers like Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge etc. This is done through the World Wide Web (WWW).
But, Internet and World Wide Web is different. Internet is the physical connection of computers and wires around the world. Whereas, Web is the information on the Internet which may contains Email, Chat, File sharing programs etc.
We used to access the internet through the link called www.google.com.
Internet is composed of a massive network like Satellite, cellular network and a physical cables.
We don’t actually connect the computers directly. Instead, computers called Servers connects directly to the internet.

Servers store the website (information) like Wikipedia, google, BBC etc. We use the device like Desktop computers, Laptops, Mobile phones, Tablets etc. called clients.
Clients request the contents like pictures, audios, videos, text information. Clients don’t directly connect to the internet. Instead, it connects to the network run by a service called Internet Service provider (ISP).
ISP is have already a built network and run all the necessary physical cabling that connects millions or billions of computers together in one network. They also connects to other networks and other ISPs. It forms one giant network called Internet.
Computers on a network have an identifier called an IP address. IP address is composed of digits/numbers which is unique to each computers.
Example: 172.217.46 (www.google.com)

An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a numerical representation that uniquely identifies a computer or another device on the network. It is like a mailing address, which identifies where postal mail comes from and where it should be delivered.
IP addresses are binary numbers but are typically expressed in Decimal form (IPv4) or Hexadecimal form (IPv6) to make reading and using them easier for humans.
IPv4 uses a 32-bits address for its Internet addresses:
xxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxx
The text form of the IPv6 address is: xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx

The device on the network has its own unique identifier called MAC (Media Access Control) address.
Example: 0C:11:46:52:89:0E
When we send or receive data through a network we need to have both an IP and a MAC address.
IP address is just like our house/location address (it passes through a place, districts, states & countries) and MAC address is just like exact a person’s identification.
Data that send through the network is through packets, that is basically bits/binary digits (combination of 0s and 1s).
Data may be anything like audio, video, pictures, texts that break down into packets and those packets rearranges itself back into order when they reaches the destination.
