• It is pronounced as "jee-ya yu", the yu made pursing your lips and rhyming with "she" without the s. Jia sounds exactly like the Chinese word for family (use Google Translate to articulate). And Yu is fish. I suspect the manufacturer is from Jiayu Country, Hubei, China. 😉

• I use the other version 3gb RAM 16gb ROM, MTK6753 1.3 GHz 64bit octacore (white). Couple it with 64gb sd card and everything just runs sweet. Mine came with 5.1 lollipop.

• Hi! Has the camera and video been improved with the new updates? I'm considering buying this phone but the camera issues are what troubles me and also the fact that so far the lollipop update is very buggy according to release notes over at speedrom. I'd like a B20 (800 Mhz) phone with a good camera and gyroscope. Mlais M7 was another choice but it's got partitioned internal memory.

• Hey *****! I'm looking at upgrading my Xperia SP next month cause my Xperia is constantly overheating and force closing games, lagging and crashing and it's really annoying, even with custom roms to remove bloatware:( But anyway, the phones i'm looking at are the Cubot X9, Elephone G7, and this one, what i want is a thin phone with a 5"+ screen, that is good for gaming. If it was you, if you could only use the Cubot X9 or the Elephone G7 for a whole year, which would you use? Left the Jiayu out because it's a tank and the obvious choice, but considerably higher in price, thanks!

• Awesome phone. Unfortunately there are too many fake chinese phone websites. Not many are legit. My experience buying this phone from jiayu – store . com is that my choice of store was wrong. Never recieved the phone and not expecting to. They just take the money and run. Will never buy from a Chinese outlet again.

• hello! i hope i get a response 🙂 so im seriously considering getting this phone because SO FAR this is the only 3gb ram octa core with the gpu it has that is 4g with an extended card that i can find for under 300 dollars if you can recommend a better that would be nice but i was hoping you could either direct me to another phone mind you ive researched a lot of phones i owned a chuwi vx3 and the whole 3g thing was killing me and i broke the screen rather fast lol and it also had a lot of problems like the screen wobbling out of no where it powering off on its own various problems that made me almost instantly regret buying the phone and i just need to know if i should get this phone or go for another phone

• Today i was looking into the stock ROM of the Jiayu S3, and I found some malicious files in system/app. It is the lovelyfonts_noicon_6.26.apk file, which could be removed by with a root file explorer, but still, it's not ok to put spyware in a ROM by Jiayu itself.
