Just 2 things could make this THE 2024 SIM

With a solid base in rFactor2 that needs refinement and simple direction, here’s my 2.5 things that would make Le Mans Ultimate a brilliant simulation release in 2024 and a key sim in our little sim racing hobby. Not to mention the first WEC sim in living memory for some of the younger members!

  • My guess goes to, rain and multiplayer will be not included is this release. Fist batch of physics in this release too.

  • I hope it does well. I think it will even beat AMS2 in terms of driving physics, not that AMS2 has set a high bar in the first place. Also all the tracks on the wec calendar helps

  • I just want those PP effects in rf2. Leave the rest to experienced modders 🙂

  • My 4 Things…
1: Good driving feel and model
2: Stable game with stable online and netcode
    3: Decent wheel/controller support
4: A fun single player championship with good AI

  • I love the way RF2 drives, and I was quite willing to deal with UI, despite its antiquity. But, ultimately, I always left disappointed due to all the in-game glitches. I would want to see how well the game is optimized before I buy… my RTX 2070 system is getting old, but still plays AMS2 at 100fps on my triple screen layout.

  • Since the current rF2 ui, you don´t have to go into the controller json to invert the FFB anymore, you can went from minus 100% to a positive 100% FFB strengh in the calibrate settings ingame

  • LMU will never see general release. Hell I'd be surprised if early access even happened.

  • Really never thought RF2 was as good as everyone said. I've been around since the beginning of sims, too. Seen and played it all. It was good, but never felt that good. But RF did have the best mod support.

  • Early access, pffft. Look how that worked out for all the other early release games.

  • I'd only try this once VR is out, fingers crossed it will be decently done.

  • which car I'm the most excited to use? I have a few:

    -Vanwall Vandervell
    -Peugeot 9X8
    -Oreca 07

Eventually, I'll also try the Corvette C8.R, but since GTE is already dead, no point that I main it 🙁 kind of thinking the same for the Oreca 07 since there won't be LMP2 in WEC this year…

  • For me it is a simple calculation. 12 cars and 7 tracks for 30 euro would be a insta dlc buy for AMS2, AC,ACC,Iracing, RRE or RF2. So yes, gonna buy it and hope for the best!

  • I won't be buying this in early access, first I want to see if they release updates and add VR support.

  • As someone who fell hard for rF2 and its charms before getting suckered into iRacing, this game will hopefully complete the showcase of the Caddy GTP across different developers. In order to get some level of handling. But I’d also want to get a taste of how that 9X8 handles for sure.

Agreed on the point of UI. I just hope they have a plan for online progression as the system seems heavily limited due to content.

  • You're right about the UI, unfortunately what we already see on the gameplay, the UI is in similar concept with the actual RF2 , like a web page, slow and has visibility issues. Other than that I'm almost sure that like the Nascar 21, this new title will carry all the RF2 issues. I would like to be surprised but the few last years showed that S397 is capping with the Rfactor 2 engine. They are good on creating new content cars and tracks but did nothing impressive in the other RF2 areas.

  • I think it can only be called 'the best sim' if it caters for both pancake players and VR. So far the devs have not confirmed that VR will be viable due to the graphical demands of the rF2 engine updates. So this is no way going to be the best sim!

  • Hi Lewis I was looking forward to this title but I heard yesterday that there's no vr support that's a mahoosive thumbs down for me lol

  • "first wifey comment" says i cant wait to visit the barriers 1000 times in a whole new sim!

  • Surprising no one, I'm wanting to drive that Toyota.

But actually I'm looking forward to getting in a comparison drive between two sims known for endurance racing, iRacing and this. So definitely the Cady is on my list of cars to drive.
