Not only are the Azores perfectly situated as a stop over when sailing across the Atlantic, they are also the perfect reward for those who have taken on such a daunting challenge. Beautiful towns nestled among huge green mountains, with adventure around every corner and a unique culture to explore, we can’t wait to get ashore!

  • Hello, nice video, but just a little correction. The cheese your eating at Norberto's house it's not from São Jorge as you have in the subtitles, but from São João, a town in Pico known for cheese production. Norberto says "from São João, from the village".

  • It is neat when one UTube channel that I watch runs into folks from another channel I watch. In this case James and Anna of Zingaro. It is funny that the different UTuber's timelines are never the same. Atticus is showing Zingaro in a place where James has not yet shown Zingaro. Now I am expecting to see in Atticus in a not yet posted Zingaro episode.

    Great video guys and what a wonderful reward and tribute to your journey thus far!! I really enjoyed your friends and the great times shared during this first real landfall of the Atlantic crossing! Really wonderful closing, sharing hearth, food and fellowship with such wonderful people!
    Reminder me of the first time I was in Spain at Christmas time away from family and friends! My best friend and I went in to a bar on Christmas Eve, the owners lived upstairs; we got along so well with everyone, That they invited us back on Christmas with their families! The bar would be closed to all except close family and friends with home cooked local delights and friendship! And myself and best friend! We felt so wonderful experiencing this joyful time with our new friends! It was like wrlciming us to a new family!
    And the food, drink and stories told was just an amazing exoerience!
    Looks like you two got to make landfall into a similar type wonderful moment!
    Thanks for sharing, it brought many wonderful memories flooding back for me!

  • Did you guys start seeing signs or smelling smells of land before you could see it? I think of your boat as being pretty big/long but wow that catamaran that rafted next to you was huge. I wonder how the crossing is on one of those.

  • I’ve been binge watching y’all’s videos and loving them, NC resident here. my wife, two kids and I are buying our first sailboat soon to fix up, our 5 year plan hopefully sees us off these shores and into adventure.

  • That was fun! Horta is a fascinating place. I love the fact everything is made out of the island itself. Building material is definitely cheaper there than here.
