Laptop Screen is Black (But Still Powered On and Running!) – Quick & Detailed How To Fix

If your laptop is on and running but the screen is black or not working there is likely a simple fix for the problem. A black laptop screen is a common problem for laptops and I’ll show you the easiest, most likely fixes along with more in-depth solutions.

In most cases, a black laptop screen is simply a software issue that can be fixed with a hard reset. If this doesn’t fix it, the next step is disconnecting the battery and power cycling the laptop. Next, we’ll disconnect the CMOS battery and power cycle the laptop. Finally, we’ll check and reseat the RAM inside the laptop.

  • So my laptops case is cracked in the top left corner and i couldnt get it fixed and the broken part sometimes gets stuck and while i was trying to put it down i tapped a black big cable (assuming its from the gpu screen adapter) so i think i cant fix it i have to go get it fixed somewhere dont i?
