This is interesting, i have a good digital multimeter and several HF cheap ones. They are hardly ever off from one another. However, if i want to get precise, i have an older Simpson analog that's very accurate.

Very essential guide how to correctly handle a multimeter. Million thanks. It was very helpful to watch.
3:45 watch out if your low battery indicator shows up onscreen. With the cheaper meters, once that comes on, accuracy goes out the window, because they rely on the battery being high enough to drive their reference voltage circuit.
The better designs will maintain accuracy down to the point where you can't even read the display any more, so they'll be reliable regardless of battery level.
Unless you know for sure it maintains accuracy under low battery conditions, change the battery right away instead of continuing to use the meter.
1:35 autorange is good only if it has a range hold feature. If it doesn't, as is the case with some of the cheap ones, it actually takes much longer to get a measurement than a manual range meter, because it has to step through the ranges for every measurement.
Making repeated measurements with auto range only often becomes time consuming. I actually prefer manual for that reason, because I can set it to the expected range immediately and get near instantaneous readings for each measurement.
This is great as I have a gifted Fluke 789 and it's so much more than I'll ever need or use.
Also can use continuity symbol to test LED's but it doesn't show th voltage which the LED requires

Im trying to find out why my weather station battery keeps going dead, it has a solar panel and works during the day. It used to work day and night and I never had to change the battery. I realized I don’t know a damn thing about electricity
