LFN Webinar: Why Edge Computing Requires Cloud Native Thinking

Edge computing is creating a new internet by lowering latency, dealing with data even when there is insufficient bandwidth, decreasing costs, and handling data sovereignty and compliance. However, with hardware and software spread across hundreds or thousands of locations, the only feasible way to operationally and financially manage these distributed systems is through standardization and automation. These are both central tenants of the cloud native ecosystem and Kubernetes that can make edge computing viable. This talk will cover the growth of edge computing and what benefits cloud native thinking will bring to it before diving the example use case of 5G in the telco space.
