I finally found the perfect place to build the ultimate car guy compound. Tons of car parts, tools, and a motorcycle were left behind. So today we’re going to sort through everything, throw a ton of stuff away, and start cleaning things up. A new house, a new shop, and a place to build cars better than ever before… but the house has some strange secrets of it’s own.

Remember when companies used to make products better?…
I have a question : If you hate LiftMaster so much then why did you buy 3 of them that is crazy !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why do you have 401,000 but you get 28,000 views? I heard you buy suscribers! LOL
Thanks! I took my son (14 yrs old) to the Kansas Airstrip Attack last weekend and he decided he wants to build a Corvette to take racing he wants a Corvette with pop up headlights so I would say 90's early 2000's what year would you recommend. We want something that runs and drives but needs work 3 to 7 grand. He want to eventually take it racing.
Is that your i3?
Stop putting stuff on the internet, you know what works. Walking out and pressing the button on the wall of the RF transmitter in your car.
Crazy that they sold a raspberry pi based system for less than the cost of a pi.
Liftmaster managers must be ex politicians. As no one hates you more than those you vote for. From both parties.
MyQ absolutely blows. It's horrible and I hate it. When you open or close our garage I get a pop-up, randomly, sometimes up to 20 minutes later. When I contacted support they said it was my internet and router. Yet, everything else reports instantly and consistently. MyQ then told me that if I paid the $15/mo for the app that the problem then goes away. BS….you are delaying the regular signal in an attempt to force me to buy your stupid service….at a cost much higher than any other service I have. Nope! I'll live without it…until today. I think Chamberlain sucks so bad that I'm willing to pay a third party to avoid paying them another dime.
Screw you Liftmaster!
I’m more interested in what you are going to be doing with the Anker Solix
I use my garage door opener app like once a month at best so I can't relate lol
Now if only it had POE it would be perfect. GDO blaQ+ maybe?
The problem with paying extra for technology is it always gets outdated or unsupported… I keep my life simple, basic garage door. I want to crack it, I pull the chains unlock and prop it up. Takes me 30 seconds….
The reason for api removed is because of continuity of service. The api's where not already working properly with the servers. The myQ app does control myQ devices the way they are ment to be.
I was until recently a garage door dude and don’t get me started on the garage door opener units. I’ve had better luck with genie but they are all yuck 🤮
More like 65% Jake. Homie is def not all there. He and JR got out in the wind before the glue dried.
Rich Man toys,,, dont need them, but they like to show off
Brother it’s lake weather…. Do you still own a lake cabin?
Anker Solix
Jokes on you I don’t have a garage 😢
Technology is not always a good thing
I'm so glad I rolled my own homekit native garage door opener using HAA, a sonoff, and a magnetic reed switch. Been 4+ years no problems.
John Ross's LKQ. Thank God for your home remodeling videos
OK, you come up with some weird stuff, but that's pretty cool.
Us RYOBI GDO owners are like: "we haven't had even app access for about 12 years now….." Have to check this out to see if it'll work with the two Ryobi GDOs I have – when liftmaster isn't discontinuing their hardware or deprecating their API's they're suing other companies in their space – unfortunately, you really don't have other options for GDOs….
I like my RatGDO which has a native HomeKit compatible firmware. No HomeAssistant middleman required to get it into HomeKit.
After your quick description, I've never clicked a link in a YT description so fast. I can't wait to get rid of MyQ. It's the worst.
Garage lights stay on for 10 minutes after door open. That's enough time to unload groceries or whatever.
I see mostly hardwired devices; however, thieves using scramblers and brute signaling controllers and devices can bypass a lot of the "wireless" security systems in use today. Just my two cents as to why hardline is certainly the way to go 🥂
It's all fun and games until Skynet comes online.
"Helicopter"??
I think something you’re missing is… Chamberlain sells My Q device for $20 on Amazon. Any garage door becomes smart, no matter the age. ALLLLL this niceness I paid a premium for when I built in 2018, is now a $20 device, all my neighbors put in far a lot less than I paid for my opener. Every kid on my street comes and goes by their My Q app and their parents can get notifications. Their servers probably are crashing. And they’re happy because the more they sell, the more they hold everyone hostage to THEIR software.
Watch out for EMP
Sir as always super intel u r the main Vato
I'm at the point where I want low tech or completely manual over anything high tech that relies on a smartphones, WiFi, Bluetooth, or any kind of rubbish subscription. My garage doors are manual and I'm fine with them
1. As someone who used HPCs for work, I would never wire/wireless up my home & garage like that. Decreased security, increased complexity, and greatly increased repair costs are a PITA. You need ONE remote for ONE garage door and then go inside and open the others you need. 2. I finally had to replace my 29YO genie screw drive with a shiny new OHD model, belt drive. Were my old Genie available new, I would have preferred that.
I've yet to need an app to turn on my kitchen lights. I turn them on when I go in there.
So what happens when u have no Internet?
No working garage door
It's about safety….u do no t want anyone breaking into ur garage
Good to know this is an option… one which I will not be implementing at all…
If Konnected had designed the controller with an activation input (common and normally open), I would buy a bunch. Access control customers constantly ask for card readers on their residential grade garage door openers. My current method is disassembling a factory remote and soldering a pair of wires to the board.
I use smart life and my garage and gate are controlled by Siri using £10 interfaces
meross and forget it.
Yep… 100% agree with what you are outlining in this video. Liftmaster screwed their loyal customers. I have had a Liftmaster for 11 years.
Moved to a new house in 2018 and swapped out my openers to Chamberlain / Liftmaster…
Liftmaster fancies themselves a software company and now wants you to charge you a monthly subscription for services they offered for free when they sold the opener.
I have the gateways and recently sold them on eBay as I switched to the RATGDO. I working on getting my second garage door…
I may try the solution you are outlining here.
I am so frustrated with Liftmaster…
