I'm on board with the AI spent. It will be crucial to have open source AI tools in the future.
Microsoft and Apple have some people on Linux board of Directors.Someones are getting rich making sure Linux doesn't work.
All those code merge requests the Linux Foundation gets free of charge. How much of that 2% goes to paying Linux Fellows? The beauty of Open Source Software…software developer work as a donation/charity-gift.
Linux is just a small part of the Operating System this video is misleading you about.
"Warez" your dank merch dude?
I think that you can guess why that the "march of dimes" is called that.
Microsoft has a position on the Linux Foundation, why is anyone surprised? They're trying to quietly smother Linux!
I'd be curious how much they spend on outreach to encourage non-enterprise usage. If Linux needs money/effort anywhere it's on the end-user desktop experience, and it needs a hell of a lot more than $400k per year to get it where it needs to be.
Of they put 100% on Linux, the year of the Linux in desktop would have arrived 25 years ago.
Oranges aren't the only fruit.
If they spent maybe 1-2% on addition driver support and some other things to make Linux even more effective, it would be nice.
Just like our governments piss away our taxes on absolute woke nonsense & their corporate cohorts. No doubt the Linux foundation are also giving money to themselves, to woke ESG social engineering, their corporate friends… & money laundering?…. Every institute is now corrupt.
Project support 64%
Project infrastructure 9%
Training and Certification 7%
Corporate operations 6%
Event support 6%
Community tooling 5%
Linux kernel support 2%
International operations 1%
But there is a difference between "Linux as a system" and "Linux the Kernel". So things that works with mostly linux should probably be included in order to give a fair comparison.
I wish they'd spend some money on preempt-rt
If we get all the linuxy goodness from merely 2%, imagine what we could have with just 2% more.
It isn't a joke, but it IS a joke. There is no good reason for this. It's unfortunate that it's probably legal, too.
Entire thing! What are they doing there?😡
