  • Is there any GOOD window resize and snap to desktop apps like Windows Powertoys has? Does Discord run natively on Mint?

  • openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE Plasma 6.1.2 is by far better – change my mind (I also used Mint, but then I grew up)
edit: I admit, Mint has cool (pun intended) wallpapers but thats it really.

  • I usually wait at least a few weeks or more before taking on the latest distro of anything. I learned a very long time ago that being any kind of early adopter is not for me. My single biggest value is stability.

  • Pika backup is better than timeshift and it's more intuitive

  • They really always have nice wallpapers

  • I tried it on bare metal twice. I had to go back to 21.3 because the Invidia driver install did not work / made the display unusable. In addition, there are problems with fuse2 and fuse in general that prevent running some appimages. I really hope this is fixed. I love 21.3.

  • Great video im looking forward to the release of LMDE 7 not in a hurry though i only just finished updating all my devices to LMDE 6 😂

  • Ive found that Font Manager in the software manager is sooooooooo much better than font viewer when it comes to installing fonts.

  • Why would you need different languages for an operating system? Doesn't Firefox have its own language packages to translate websites?

  • When you ere messing with the
"actions" and re-arranging, the reason it didn't work was because you never clicked "SAVE".

  • Please suggest which option is better:
    1) upgrading from 21.3 to 22
    2) fresh install of 22
    Thanks before 🙏🏼

  • Either LM needs to ship less themes by default or make the UI easier to handle with a lot of themes (maybe in a windows 7 kinda style), I definitely agree with the idea of splitting them up into packages so you can remove what you don't use even if it was still installed by default

  • I'll wait until the official release when all of the bugs are fixed.

  • i really like green and black color combinations and it was part of the reason i chose Mint over other distros. i was pretty shocked when i found out that they changed the default color to blue.

  • Google Chrome Flatpack 1GB to be downloaded and 3GB disk space required is getting silly. There are still full operating system below 1GB that include full office and browser.

  • Some people are saying that Mint looks ugly out of the box, and I can understand them. It looks totally different from modern Windows or macOS.

However, design the only thing I found questionable (it's also a subjective topic…). Even so, you can customize Cinnamon and make it look whatever you want it to be. Hell, I even made it look like Ubuntu, but with custom icons. Overall, I feel like Mint is THE Linux distro for Windows refugees. Similar design, one of the easiest distros to use + based on Ubuntu, but doesn't have controversial stuff from Canonical (like Snaps).

For those who want modern design and auto-tiling (like in window managers), I think Pop!_OS is also a solution… once the 24.04 is released with COSMIC DE. It doesn't look like Windows though.

  • My wifi and bluetooth don't work with the 22 beta. Also having install fails with the applets.

  • I've been using pop os and manjaro but linux mint os my favorite still it would great to see a a server version of linux mint and different desktop style like gnome or plasma

  • an anemic version. And they will mess up important portions of the system with this update

  • I've never really understood why there are so many built in wallpapers with each release. I would have thought that most people would just download wallpapers of their choice from the internet or simply use a personal photo as a background. That personal quibble aside, this looks like yet another solid release. I would like to see Wayland integration sped up a tad though.

  • I need Latin for a spell check option…but German is my second language…

  • Literally the day after I put 21.3 on another machine I find out about this… will 21 just update itself from within itself or require a full blown install over like many distros do on a big new number version :edit: mint team confirmed 21.3 will easily update to 22!

  • I know this is Linux Mint but I have always disliked the green. Don't know why.

  • Linux Mint devs supports Palestine .. not good man

  • Even though I like Cinnamon, I do miss Mint KDE

  • There's a BUG in verification module in appshop. All flatpaks are UNVERIFIED sign😂❤ but all works properly. Best BETA i tested

  • Why linux mint has to be so ugly out of the box 😭
