  • windows 10 and probably windows 11 still has that startup sound, but it is disabled by default.
to enable it, you must right click on the speaker icon on the tray apps list next to your clock and select sounds.
there you can customize your windows alerts and other sounds, but there is also "Play Windows startup sound" checkbox.

  • Vista isn't as bad as people make it out to be, you gotta just not run it on incapable hardware.

I also Posess a Dell Inspiron 6400, and i quite like it, hinges are busted unfortunately.

  • Why haven't you do about installing mx Linux in your mac its better than vista

  • 3.5 years ago I had my own first desktop, was a Pentium 4 shitbox with 1GB RAM and I had upgraded the GPU so I could use Aero.
I was bored so I decided to try Vista and I never had issues every time I used it.
Somebody even made a kernel extension for it so you can run new software on it.

  • I think you installed a beta version of Windows Vista because the "How To Share Feedback?" icon doesn't appear on retail version.

  • Nothing wrong with Vista as long as you run it on a system that at least meets the bare minimum requirements and not like most back in the day try to run it on a system that was meant for Windows XP, lets say PIII 800mhz with 512Mb ram and 20GB HD.

  • reminds me of " Sir Les Patterson " , a compliment !

  • If it had that icon for spider solitaire on my system, I'd uninstall it.

  • Vista was truly ahead of its time. Especially in system requirements 😀

  • Windows Vista was so beautiful. It was just ahead of its time and needed advanced hardware which was not very prevalent at that time.

  • Installing windows Vista in 2023 is next to impossible! There is a community enthusiast known as legacy update, who has archived all of the windows seven updates that you can grab from a clean install personally, I don’t feel it’s worth a time. I still have my Windows Vista equipped, Del Vistro 1500. 500 GB hard drive four gigs of ram twin core T 7500 Intel processor. Fully up-to-date with Microsoft office 2010 for business. I turn it on from time to time when I want to take a trip down the way back machine.

  • I have that same 12" macbook, it's so nice! Mine is rose gold base spec tho, I wish it had more RAM

  • You do know how they "Fixed" vista right?
They threw away the kernel and replaced it with XP64 server kernel.

  • 8:32 KITI!! Definitely the best (and softest) System Administrator around!
