MacBook Pro! over the air.
Does this model have the mini led screen?
you are in canada
There is a side effect with menu bar always being shown. That is, when I try to play any video/movie in full screen mode it still SHOWS me the MENU BAR! and it has been driving me nuts. I want it on all other apps while on fullscreen but I DO NOT want them while watching "MAC Address". If anyone has a fix please let me know I can't seem to find one
That notch with a webcam cut-out added to the outro got me chuckling. Appreciate the dig.
100% agree that silver is the color going forward. That contrast with the blacked out keyboard 😮💨
This whole channel feels ironic
Oh we must have a misunderstanding. "Cheap" and "Apple" in the title? Not sure I'm following.
"the high-demand HEVC"
yeah, maybe 10 years ago
using a 14inch right now it's definitely more than capable of everything that needs to be done
I just noticed apple went from the MacBook Pro logo on the inside of the lid on the 2010, to removing it on the 2013 gen, then adding it back on the 2016, to removing it again on the new m1 pro. interesting
0:32 that price seems a LOT easier to swallow considering my 4k top of the line ups 13 9380 cost around that price
the MacBook has a bigger, high refresh rate screen that is very close to the 4k resolution on the 13
much better speakers
a MUCH better trackpad and a more comfortable to use keyboard
same ram and storage capacity (16gb and 512gb)
it has a dedicated MagSafe charger, plus hdmi, plus full size sd card slot so when charging, you don't loose a thunderbolt port
it is INSANELY fast, while staying cooler and has double the cores on the cpu with a "dedicated" 14 core gpu vs integrated graphics
significantly better battery life
literally the only thing my ups 13 is better at is that it is running windows which is a positive and a negative, but the MacBook can probably run windows through parallels and still be significantly faster. and the MacBook is thicker, heavier, and bigger. which honestly I like because I actually have 2 laptops, my ups 13, and a 2013 MacBook Pro 15 and I actually like using my 15 inch more every day because of the larger screen, more comfortable keyboard and superior trackpad, but its 4.4 pounds and its big.
the MacBook Pro 14 is the perfect combination of my current 2 computers.
its a better content consumption device because of the bigger and even better screen than my xps
it has better battery life than both for travel
its more comfortable for daily use like my MacBook
but its nearly a pound lighter and much smaller than my 15 so its literally the best of both worlds. the 16 im sure is really nice, but as someone who will probably never even reach the limit of the 14 on really anything, that compact size that's still bigger than a 13 inch device for my larger hands really is the perfect size and plus the ports, that screen, the keyboard and trackpad, that is my dream laptop. I literally find no legitimate downsides. I mean sure it would be nice if it was upgradable but that is a product of getting such insane performance out of this machine and honestly as I've seen with my old 2010 MacBook Pro, sometimes you're just limited with upgrades based on ram speed and such. would it have been nice if it could be upgraded down the line? yes. would it have been nice if you could use bootcamp? absolutely. but as far as im concerned, this laptop is basically as perfect as it could get in my books. maybe ill still enjoy using my MacBook Pro 15 every day more because of the larger palm wrest area and larger screen, but where im at right now, it just seems like the best of both worlds, the perfect laptop
Such a great device. An air would have sufficed for my usage but i needed the 16gig of ram and atleast 512gigs of storage. Getting and air with those upgrades didn't make any sense though
love your hoodie, where can i find it? tyty!
My 13" macbook pro (m1, 16gb) does about 3 workdays without charging
I got it before the m1 pro came out but it does everything I want so dont need another
I needed a laptop with a great battery, and it delivers
While it's tempting, considering my job revolves around Windows and 99% of the user base are on Windows it just doesn't seem practical.
Laughed out loud when you connected HDMI and go from excited to dark pits of sadness. "What am i doing with my life?"
Loved the review.
God this guy is such a good camera personality, he makes MA
Should this m1 14 inch entry MacBook Pro be good for graphic design?
I’ll never have this computer
I am 1 year late, but just bought the M1 pro. I don't do anything heavy but wanted the Pro so I can be cooler than others.
Picking one tomorrow in the store.
WTF?!?! This Mac isnt really that expensive. His homie there at LTT reviewd some Tiny lenovo that was 2400$ and no fucking way its close to being as good and have the longevity that this amazing Mac has. Why people still by PC i have no idea. Great gaming whatever. But if youre a normal person who wants to drop a grand or even 2 grand and want to simply use it for 4 to 7 or 8 years. Mac all day errr day. I bought a 2015 15" Macbook Pro on ebay for 250$ in damn near mint condition. Dual graphics. 2GB of VRAM and it works flawlessly. I used a patcher to run Monterrey on it. The screen display is better then my maxed out 32GB RAM fully loaded 2018 Dell precision. three years older and even the speakers are better then my Dell. Id spend 2K on that Mac in a heartbeat and be happy for years
I have a new M1 pro and I absolutely love it
But I do miss that space grey tbh
i need 16gb ram for fullstack mobile dev, the only option are m1 cto or m1 pro 14", I use both of them, m1 pro is the best choice
Just got a refurbished one. It does everything Windows laptops can do except gaming and it just more stable and smooth.
I bought this instead of the new air because it was 100€ cheaper than the air at the time.
Ребята как вы думаете брать ли цвет space Grey у нового MacBook 14?
(у нас кончились все silver macbook)
Should I buy this in 2023?
Just wanted to say that this was the best MacBook Pro review. Thanks!
It is too expensive, for just a laptop, and do not fall for the anchorage effect. Just look at the whole picture, consider window laptop too, and with the same price, you can get a lot more.
People stigmatised window laptop as slow, poorly built, but this is only for the case of budget laptop. For high end window laptop, they are actually very good, and much more affordable than the Mac
You should do a video on how the 2013 Mac Pro (if you buy the cheapest on ebay and upgrade to the max spec allowed yourself) will be just as capable.
I’ve been thinking and dreaming of buying a MacBook Pro since 2008. Back then, I didn’t even know what I was going to do with it, just wanted it, as Jonathan said, for the “clout”.
Now, some 14 years later, I’m a backend and hobbyist mobile developer and about to get this base model MacBook Pro. It’s more than enough and the specs should last me a good 3-5 years if not more. Thanks for this video, MA. Helped clear a few things up for me. 😁
I ended up getting the base 14 inch macbook pro. The main reason was that with the black friday deals going on here, the gap between this and the 1TB model was a bit much. I always prefer having more storage and ram, but for my day to day usage it's clear that the base 14inch is more than enough performance for me. We'll see how that ages over the next 4-5 years
Ew no..Space Gray all the way
Got the base 16 inches inch. Need screenestate. It is not too heavy and it is fantastic. Battery life is good.
"Pro"-cessors
I'm literally waiting for mine to get delivered by UPS today. Already feel like I'll be a convert from windows.
I went the base model from a 2014 15" MBP. This machine can cope with work that my old MBP would not be able to cope with PERIOD. The thing is I could spend the extra $$ for more CPU cores or GPU cores, but it will not make much difference to my workflow.
I love the fact the brick and the cable are separate. I fucked so many of these.
Just bought the base 14” and I love it. Runs cool and quiet, power brick is smaller, and its more powerful than my 2014 15” MBP. Handbrake x265 rencoding take half the time and i can actually use Video Enhance AI now. It was unusable on my old MBP.
I love it for dev work.
Stays cool through stuff my old Intel i7 MacBook would be burning up doing.
This is the first full MA video I’ve watched I’m not event half way through and the format is already better than LTT. Linus, take notes
