Making Cassandra Easier for AI Developers – Jeffrey Carpenter, DataStax

What if I told you Cassandra was becoming one of the easiest databases for developers to adopt for AI and other cutting edge use cases?

Cassandra has earned its reputation over the years of being a database that can handle the most challenging real-time workloads with high performance at high scale. Traditionally we’ve made it hard for developers to access that power fully.

In this session, we’ll see how a series of enhancements to Cassandra and its ecosystem are making it possible to use the database for a growing set of use cases. We’ll examine how Storage Attached Indexes (SAI), the Stargate JSON API, and multiple client libraries and integrations allow users to treat Cassandra like a document database, perform vector search, and build RAG applications.
