The variety and number of OT devices continue to grow at such a pace that network engineers really need to think through how to manage them as part of their broader network. Dan Massameno joins the show to talk about how he’s collaborating with his facilities department and using SD-Access to manage the OT virtual network on Yale’s campus. He explains the challenges of dealing with static IPs, the super chatty BACnet/IP protocol, and all the odd little behaviors unique to different OTs. We dig into the details: The role LISP plays in SD-Access, how he pairs Cisco SD-Access with Palo Alto firewalls, and the type of router he uses for places like boiler rooms and unheated spaces.
