Mark Shuttleworth is a global icon, tech pioneer, venture capitalist and philanthropist.
In the 90s, as a student, Mark founded an internet security company and sold it for $575M to Verisign.
In 2002, he became the second self-funded space tourist ever where he spent a year in Russia training to be an astronaut to eventually spend 8d in space aboard the Soyuz TM-34.
Since 2004, Mark has been leading Canonical, a computer software company he created for the development, promotion and commercial support of free software projects – most notably the Ubuntu operating system and related projects.
