Modern IP cameras on old coax cables? (PWJ224)
A few days ago, I posted a picture of some old coaxial cables in our network that are still in use for surveillance cameras. Some viewers asked how that might be possible and asked me to show the necessary converters.
Here they are…. Aetek EPoC adapters (Ethernet and Power over Coax) Bute they are not cheap. $300-$400 for the standard ones (1 pair)

$400 a pop you could almost pay a cable monkey to run new lines.
Coax! The original Ethernet standard.
Why not just use HD-TVI cameras? They already use coax, so you don't need an expensive converter.
That works over far greater distances than I'd assumed.
awww that CRT noise
Useful junk!
I've been trying to get a setup with an ESP32 as the Man-in The-Middle for old cameras.
But this is also a great option
