These updates promise to save bandwidth, storage, and time by offering smaller, incremental differentials rather than hefty monthly updates. The streamlined process will automatically integrate updates with no extra steps for admins, making for a faster and more efficient user experience. If you can’t wait, the Insider Dev Channel has a preview available already!

There’s a very short list of things

that everyone can do that will drastically improve their security posture.

Don’t reuse passwords, turn on multi factor authentication, and update your systems regularly.

Well, Microsoft is tackling that third one.

Starting in late 2024, Windows 11 and Server 2025 will get checkpoint cumulative updates.

So instead of those huge monthly updates, Microsoft will roll out smaller incremental updates

to help make update management more manageable. These updates will save your bandwidth, hard drive space, and most importantly, your time.

And admin out there listening, you don’t really need to panic. Other than the fact that, it’s Windows and you’re running a Windows environment, but these updates should, Microsoft says will, but these updates should seamlessly integrate with your existing tools like Windows Update and Windows Auto Patch.

So. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for that one. If you’re curious to try it out early, you can join the Insider Dev Channel and install Windows Insider Preview Build to stay ahead of the curve and experience efficient updates now.
