Node.js Reference Architecture – Luke Holmquist, Red Hat

Presented at Open Source In Finance Forum 2023 – NYC
Presented by Luke Holmquist – Red Hat

Title: Node.js Reference Architecture
Abstract: The JavaScript ecosystem is fast-moving and vibrant. You only need to look at the exponential growth of npm modules in the last several years. The amount of variety and choice in this ecosystem is a clear strength. However; all this choice can make choosing the right module difficult.

For most applications, you will likely want something that works and for which you can share any experiences or best practices across your organization. Having a reference architecture can help teams avoid relearning the same things again and again.

In this talk we will look at how the Node.js teams at both Red Hat and IBM have collaborated to create a reference architecture of recommendable Node.js and Javascript components to help both our internal teams help share their experiences and recommendations as well as helping our external customers get started.
