Office 365 SMTP setup
Set Up SMTP office 365 for legacy App
Enable SMTP for office 365
1- Open Office 365 admin portal
2- Go to Admin
3- Choose from the Left list Azure Active Directory
4- Choose Azure Active Directory
5- Click Properties
6- Scroll down and Click Manage Security defaults
7- Click No then Save
8- On the same page click on Users
9- Click on the Per-user MFA
10- Choose the email you want to use SMTP from the left list click enable MFA then Enforce
11- Click on Service Settings and choose to Allow users to create app passwords to sign in to non-browser apps then save
12- Now login with SMTP User activate MFA use your phone
13- Click on Circle ICON that holds your first Name letter from the drop list Click View the account
14- From the left list choose Security info
15- Click on Add Sign-in Method from Drop Down list Choose App Password
16- Enter a name for your APP Microsoft will Generate a password Save this password in Save Place as it will be shown for one time only,
17- Now go to your Machine or any legacy App and use SMTP according to the below setting
SMTP Host – smtp.office365.com
SMTP Port – 587
Encryption – TLS
Authentication – Yes
Username – Primary Email ID (Email ID which has access to the shared mailbox)
Password – App Password
