OpenStack as a Virtualized Infrastructure Manager in NFV ecosystem – Hyde Sugiyama

Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) is a new industry initiative and aims to leverage existing virtualization concepts to consolidate function-specific network equipment onto standard commercially off the shelf servers (COTS), storage and switches, which could be located in network nodes, data centers or at enterprise customer sites.

OpenStack will be a key component in ETSI NFV MANO functional block.

This talk introduces business opportunity, technical challenges and our practices around the NFV and OpenStack activity. We will talk about how we exist in the ecosystem with other providers and whether we compete or complement with ALU, Juniper, NEC, etc.
