OPNFV community creates virtual central office platform in 3 short weeks

In this demo, Azhar Sayeed, Chief Architect, SDN & NFV at Red Hat explains how a team from the OPNFV project managed to come up with an open-source virtual central office for carriers in just 3 weeks. Although the last bit of code for the project was only finalised two days before the official unveiling, Sayeed shows us how ten vendors came together to create 20 virtual network functions to power a fully functional virtual central office infrastructure build on open source technologies.

In addition to just showing off the solution, Sayeed was able to demonstrate the provisioning of both residential and business services from the platform. More impressive is the fact, he did it all from a computer, with a few clicks.
