Part 21 : Understanding RID Master Role – Windows Server Admin Complete Course

In this session, we will understand the concept behind the FSMO (Flexible Single Master Operations Role) in Active Directory. You will understand the reason why exactly did Microsoft create these 5 roles. Think about designations given to different people in your organization. Only people with certain designations perform certain roles. This is the same concept with FSMO roles in Active Directory. We also discuss one of the FSMO roles called RID master. The RID master is concerned with allocating blocks of RID’s to all Domain Controllers. Based on these RID’s, objects like user accounts are created. If this role is down then creating objects in Active Directory may not be possible.

To understand this course effectively, kindly follow the numerical sequence.
