Part 4 : How to Install and Configure Zabbix Agents on Cisco Router

Steps :

Step 1 : Adding Addresses to each router and make sure there a connection between them (sorry )

Step 2 :
Installing SNMP and some optional SNMP utilities is as simple as running one command:

# yum -y install net-snmp net-snmp-utils

Step 3 :

On your Cisco device, enable snmp using the following:

#snmp-server community public #[change ‘public’ if necessary] ro | rw
#snmp-server host IP_of_ZabbixServer version 2c public udp-port 161

Step 4:
Test the SNMP Configuration
Now let’s test the SNMP configuration… try running the following command:

snmpwalk -v 2c -c sysadminit ip@

Step 5 :

Create a Host for Cisco Router
click on Configuration = Host =Create Host
now we are in Host tab

-Host name: set name for you client
-Groups: choose a group for you client
-SNMP interfaces : input your client ip

go to Template tab = click on Select = double click on “Template SNMP Device”

= go to Macros tab
-Macro: {$SNMP_COMMUNITY}
-Value: type your community name, mine is “public”
= click on Add =click on Add button
