  • Cinematics are in game real-time because they are doing fluid transitions from player perspective to cutscene. They showed us that in a squadron 42 showcase at a past citizencon

  • ex sc player? when did you stop?
and SQ42 is the main war against the aliens… I'm not interested in an fps shooter. will be like Wing Commander, which I never played. I was hoping for a more Freelancer inspired game.

see you in the verse, or maybe twitch… 😀 o7

  • it's basically wing commander with FPS espionage elements

space pew pew will be filler but most of it is just gonna be and FP RPG because it's not fixed on just shooting
it's puzzle and exploration too. so you will like it

  • Everything shown "should be in the game" Like the opening scene could very well be the start of the game. As we're not a pilot yet and it's established later we're a survivor of the battle of Vega.

The sandworm thing was a tech demo it was them playing in engine not in game. Most advanced stuff coming to SC is held back by server meshing not being online yet. But they finally after 5-6 years got server meshing working and it's being implemented in the next big patch so lots and lots is being added to SC over the next year.

  • They took the facial animations directly from them doing their mocap scenes. Which is why she hardly moves her mouth because that's how she talks. Bishop isn't giving a speech for the people in that room he's addressing the whole fleet who can't see him.

  • This is the problem I have with the skeptic community as a whole, it seems like they are married to the negativity and no matter what refuse to accept the game for what it is, all I see here is complaining and complaining, maybe you are not the target audience, nothing wrong with enjoying starfield!

  • Thanks I thought I was the only one who thought the music transition at the beginning was way too abrupt

  • I love you. You are asking ALL the right questions. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  • LMAO you dont play mario if you dont like platformers and you dont play a military space sim if you dont like dog fighting and fps gunplay 😂.

  • I really don't understand why you watch a video about a military game if you don't like games where main gameplay is shooting, in space and on ground and the story is about beeing a military pilot. It's literally in the name.

  • This is the power of Star Engine.
It will Revolutionize the Gaming Industry whether you like a space game or not.
Many will want to buy the ability to use this game engine for their own visions.

  • The AI tools they've been building for the last eight years (bartender in the monthly reports anyone?) are part of a subsumption hierarchy under their Apollo middleware that powers Squadron 42. A lot of people have been ragging on CIG for the mentions of bartenders, chow lines, and janitors using mops and buckets, but they're complex behavioural routines for the AI. Why does all of this matter?

For the exact thing you mentioned at 34:30 about having AI crew aboard the ship. They had to design procedural systems so AI can live their daily lives, interact with ships, maintain hygiene, eat, sleep, etc. Some of the current ships in Star Citizen also need slight reworks as they found that the Freelancer was too narrow and the AI crew they were testing couldn't navigate it.

In short, everything you're seeing the AI crew, medical staff, and hangar maintenance groups do in the video will be moved over to Star Citizen when it's time to hire NPCs. None of what you saw was pre-scripted, but rather procedural. That's part of why it's also been taking them so long, but it also makes it easier for them to port those behaviours into the persistence universe (some of the AI combat routines have already been added, such as scavenging for weapons/ammo, and looting the bodies of downed players/NPCs).

  • All cinematics are done with in-game footage. Even if you do not trigger it, you will see the characters going through the cinematic.

  • This game may be set in 2945 but the heart of its devs is set on the 90s, that's why all the actors are old men from 90s (or older) sci-fi/action films.

  • This has nothing to do with the gameplay but 1:05 that's not how you pronounce the word archangel. It's a hard k like Ark. Immersion RUINED.

  • Star Citizen is definitely ahead of Starfield, but I'll go ahead and keep playing Apex and contributing to Operation Harsh Doorstop thank you 😏😉

Have you considered doing the videos testing the limits of the game, seeing if solo & co-op missions create memorable experiences, or demonstrating if the replayability potential in general is actually there?
