Quick video explaining why and how to transcode media extremely quickly by specifying an SSD. Don’t mistake this for a reason to NOT have a decent gpu (and hardware acceleration enabled).
If you are a ninja you may also symlink ‘/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/’ to the same ssd to have all Plex’s data utilize the same advantage. (Linux)
