Well, I had that question asked during a job interview test here in Brazil, and, unfortunately, Brazil is far behind in terms of history, so people here are not up to date on the best practices in IT.
As a hiring manager, I can tell you that having an A plus cert today is a huge benefit.
I was told to skip A+ and go for net or Sec😮
