Repairing an IBM Portable Personal Computer 5155 for a Co-Worker! Part 1 (Computerized Start™ Live)
One of my co-workers has entrusted me with their first computer: an IBM Portable Personal Computer 5155. I don’t get to keep it, but I do get to repair it.
In Part 1 of this livestream series, I will be disassembling and inspecting this computer so I can give them a ballpark repair estimate. Please don’t get mad if I don’t power the computer up, it isn’t mine so I’m going to be a bit more careful with it… that also means I’m probably going to at least partially re-assemble it so that I don’t risk losing parts.
What troubles will lurk inside? Will this bring back good memories? Will I find a show-stopper of an issue? you’ll have to watch to find out!
