1. Prepare

– DC29 : Running Windows Server 2008 R2 | A DVD install OS Windows Server 2008 R2

2. Step by step : Reset Administrator’s password (forgot password)

– Insert DVD to server

– DC29 : Reset Administrator’s password

+ You forgot password and logon fail – Restart

+ Boot to DVD – Next – Repair your computer – Choose ‘Use recovery tools that …’ : Choose ‘Windows Server 2008 R2’

– Command Prompt, type :

+ X:Sources D: # Maybe C:

+ D:Dir # Check folders

+ D:cd Windows

+ D:Windowscd System32

+ D:WindowsSystem32 ren utilman.exe utilman.exe.old

+ D:WindowsSystem32 copy cmd.exe utilman.exe

+ D:WindowsSystem32 Shutdown -r -t 0 # Restart

+ Click ‘Ease of access’

+ C:WindowsSystem32 net user Administrator abc@123 # Set new password is abc@123

+ Logon using new password === OK
