This tutorial will show you how to reset the root password on CentOS 7. This tutorial will also work on Redhat 7. The process of resetting the root password on Cent OS can be used if you have forgotton the root password for your CentOS server.
This tutorial will first show you how to interrupt the boot process of the CentOS operating system.
You will then see how to edit the boot process on CentOS to boot into emergency mode.
Once in emergency mode you will see the process of reseting the root password on Centos 7.
Finally you will then reboot the CentOS server and test that the root password you changed has worked.
