• The answer to this problem is revealed in YouTube video " You need to sign in as an Administrator but there aren't any", by Timmy Joe PC Tech. Put in a boot media (DVD or USB). Upon seeing the startup screen hit Shift + F10. This will bring up a command prompt. Type "net user administrator /active:yes". Note that there must be a space after the word 'administrator'. This activates the default administrator account in Windows 10. You can now run a restore or do other troubleshooting. You must do this each time you restart the computer. If the restore gives you an error stating that the C drive must be write protected, type "net start vss". When this is done type "rstrui.exe /offline:C:windows=active". Restore will now run. Note that there must be a space after the word 'exe'. The write protection problem could occur if you removed the C drive and put it into another Windows computer to back up any files that require it. If you must reload the OS, the boot media will you give the option of keeping your personal files. Do not trust this. Depending on where your files are, some may be lost, hence the need for backup.
