Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 | E18 The Lost City, part 2
Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 20 Year Celebration Let’s Play
Episode 18 – The Lost City, part two
Lara continues her fight for survival in the lost city of Kitezh, with many Deathless Ones out to kill her. Later in this episode she gets her own back a bit by taking a turn firing the trebuchets (that’s a sodding a great catapult to the non Lord of the Ring / Game of Thrones minded viewers!), to try to destroy the gate so she can progress. Satisfying stuff in indeed. She’s not done here yet, with one more trebucet to free up and use next time.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the 2015 sequel to the 2013 reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise from developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix. This is the eleventh game in the main series and second game in the Survivor Timeline.
Its story follows Lara Croft as she ventures into Siberia in search of the legendary city of Kitezh while battling the paramilitary organization Trinity, which intends to uncover the city’s promise of immortality. Lara must traverse the environment and combat enemies with firearms and stealth as she explores semi-open hubs. In these hubs she can raid challenge tombs to unlock new rewards, complete side missions, and scavenge for resources which can be used to craft useful materials.
Development of Rise of the Tomb Raider closely followed the conclusion of development of the 2013 reboot. Player feedback was considered during development, with the team reducing the number of quick time events and introducing more puzzles and challenge tombs. The team traveled to several locations in Turkey, including Cappadocia, Istanbul and Ephesus, to design Kitezh. Camilla Luddington returned to provide voice and motion-capture work for Lara. Powered by the Foundation engine, the game was also developed by Eidos Montreal and Nixxes Software.
Microsoft announced at E3 2015 that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be a timed exclusive release for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One on November 10th, 2015. This sparked player outrage and widespread criticism from the gaming press and community. The game was praised, with critics liking its graphics, gameplay, and characterisation; however, some reviewers felt that it did not take enough risks.
The PC version was released on January 28th 2016 via Steam and Windows Store.
The PlayStation 4 version, dubbed Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, was released on October 11th, 2016 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the release of the original Tomb Raider. It includes all previously released downloadable content, along with PlayStation VR support for “Blood Ties”. Later, a patch was released for the game adding support for the PlayStation 4 Pro, giving the game enhancements such as enhanced visuals, 4K resolution, and a higher framerate.
The Xbox One X released on November 7th 2017, and a patch for the game released the same day. This patch gives Rise of the Tomb Raider the same enhancements as the PlayStation 4 Pro version of the game. Feral Interactive brought the 20 Year Celebration edition of the game to macOS on April 12th 2018 and to Linux on April 19th 2018.
A sequel, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, was released in September 2018 concluding the origin trilogy. The future of Tomb Raider and whether the now established Survivor timeline Lara Croft will move forward in further adventures, and whether Lara will continue to be portrayed by Camilla Luddington is unknown at this time.
