Rocky Linux, OpenIndiana and more
This week has seen the release of the Rocky Linux Release Candidate. For those not “in the know,” Rocky Linux is another “CentOS Replacement” similar to AlmaLinux. The difference here is that Rocky Linux is being run by one of the original CentOS developers.
OpenIndiana is an Illumos distribution. This is based on the last public version of Solaris with updated packages. I like to occasionally take a look at OpenIndiana because it’s like taking a trip back in time to my days in the computer lab working on Sun boxes.
