San Francisco 4G LTE Speed Test! [AT&T/T-Mobile/Sprint/Verizon]
Here’s a quick update on 4G LTE speed test for all U.S. major carriers AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon for San Francisco.
Test was conducted in Japan Town mall, about the center of San Francisco, CA.
This is a speed test of “San Francisco” city only and also general thoughts on 4G LTE coverage/speeds for SF Bay Area. Depending on where you live, your speeds may differ.

T-mobile has been getting a lot better in the bay area. I first got them in March, they were meh. Good in some locations dropping to EDGE in stores, not the case anymore for the most part. Everywhere where I live besides my neighborhood now gets speeds 15-40 Mbps while my neighborhood gets 5-15 on LTE guess it's the last on the priority list for backhaul upgrades. Just 2 months ago I would get 5-10 pretty much everywhere now I get 20+ in a lot more places.
Sprint on the other hand I've noticed getting progressively worse. Friends complain that they no longer get service where they used to and are thinking about switching over to T-mobile.
GSM FTW. I mean, seriously CDMA. Verizon suuuuuucks. It's overhyped and straight evil/big brother IMHO, and Sprint is trash where I live. 3G is so slow, I couldn't stand it. AT&T is good but expensive, and T-Mobile is a good, well rounded carrier where I live. I rarely have dropouts to unusable network speeds and call quality is nice.

just switched to tmo a few weeks ago pay 80.00 but get unlimited and unthrodded data. love it actually tmo has better speeds than both att and Verizon were I live. which is San Diego

On my s4 with Sprint LTE i got about 15 down 3 up, with my LG G3 i get about 35+ down 8 up with LTE Spark in Fort Worth Texas. I get good service with them here
With all phones next to each other there must be some interference or radio noise causing the test to be less accurate. I think.
I'm getting about 8.04 down and .25 up which I can deal with on Sprint's 4G LTE
This test doesn't mean jack.
The AT&T is faster than my broadband connection…….
We've been with Tmo for more than a decade, and I'm more than satisfied with their network and also their customer service. Even before they adopted "Uncarrier" business model they always went above and beyond with their customer service and I really felt like they earned our business. I always believed they were heading in the right direction to be a much bigger competitor to the other carriers one day. Since John has taken over as CEO we've witnessed the coverage expand in a huge way and the network performance here in NE Ohio has been amazing! For us the Network works great wherever we travel, and we're always in metropolitan areas. The price is unbeatable, the customer service is fantastic, the phone portfolio is great, and after being under the Uncarrier model I'd NEVER sign a contract with another carrier again!
