If an Outlook Error 0x80042109 appears on your Windows 10 PC when you try sending e-mail messages via Outlook, then this post may help you fix the problem. 1] Check your Internet connectivity

Slower or sluggish network performance can be the major cause to occur such type of outlook error. So, first of all, check your network connection properly and make sure the connectivity speed is good and working correctly. 2] Remove your Outlook Account and Add it again

Another method you can try to fix this issue is removing the Outlook Account and adding it again.

To do this, open the Settings app first and then select the Apps category.

Go to the right pane and select the Outlook app under Apps & features.

Click on the Advanced options, scroll down to the Reset section, and then click on the Reset button.

After resetting the account, add your account information again. Now, wait for a while until it completes the synchronization process.

3] Change server port number

It is a good idea to change the server port number if you find this Error 0x80042109 on your computer.

Open your Outlook and navigate to File > Info > Account Settings.

Click the drop-down menu and again select the Account Settings.

In the Account Settings page, go to the Email tab and then double click on your email account.

Go to the bottom-right corner of the next page and hit the More Settings > Advanced.

In the dialog box, set the Outgoing Server (SMPT) to 587 (by default it should be 25) and select the type of encrypted connections as TLS.

Then click OK > Next > Finish to save the changes.

Now relaunch the application and check if it helped you to fix the problem.

5] Disable your Windows Firewall temporarily

Disable your Windows Firewall or disable your third-party applications temporarily and check if it works.
