Settings Audit File Server using Group Policy in Windows Server 2019

1. Prepare

– DC31 : Domain controller(Yi.vn) | DC32 : File Server | WIN101 : Client

2. Step by step : Settings Audit File Server

– DC31 : Settings audit for servers belong “File Server” OU

+ Server manager – Tools – Active Directory Users and Computers – Yi.vn – Check ‘File Server’ OU

+ Server Manager – Tools – Group Policy Management – Yi.vn – Right-click “File Server” OU

– Create a GPO in this domain, and Link it here… – Name : Audit File Server – Right-click “Audit File Server” – Edit…

– Computer Configuration – Policies – Windows Settings – Security Settings – Local Policies – Audit Policy – Select all ( Success and Failure )

+ Start – cmd – gpupdate /force

– DC32 : Update policy, create folders and sharing

+ Start – cmd – gpupdate /force — Restart

+ File Explorer – This PC === C: Drive – Create folder named DATA and sharing, create Sub folders and files

+ Assign permission for HiepIT and VietIT

– WIN101 : Test create folder, file, edit and delete file

+ Logon using acoount HiepIT : Start – \DC32 – access folder of HiepIT

+ Create a new folder named Report, create files named Report1.txt, Report2.txt, Report3.txt

+ Rename Report2.txt to MyReport.txt, edit contents of Report1.txt, delete Report3.txt

+ DC32 : Check Event Viewer ( Event ID : 5145 ) – Security
