Sprint 4G LTE working on phones not activated?!? More testing as well

Something very interesting that I accidentally noticed was that 4G was working on ALL 3 devices at once! I only have 1 line on my Sprint account, so the Galaxy Nexus was the only one activated. The Galaxy S III and EVO 4G LTE were not activated. I tested this later on that night on a different tower as well and all three devices were working!
Hopefully someone else can test this out for me and it wasn’t a fluke!

Let me know what you think… be sure to leave a comment!

  • Connect all three to wifi and airplane mode the galaxy nexus…wifi was probably the reason the other two went faster

  • Sprint allow you to text and use web and allow receiving calls while not activated on lte and wimax. after your phone stays inactive for a few months it will all cut off

  • 22.34mbs?!! thats too fast! you can watch 1084pixel movie without any buffering…. so good…

  • That happens because you use the same SIM card on all devices the Galaxy Nexus is the 1 with the phone number that happens because the Galaxy Nexus is close to the other devices so the frequency radio I affect in this case your other 2 devices

  • I can't get it to work anymore. Seems they blocked it

  • Now if they had wimax in my area to begin with ,that would be cool

  • what can idoo if i foun a sprint fone but when i whent to try to conected day ask me for sprint accoubt what can idoo

  • finally some who knows not to do speed test at the same time

  • Things will be slightly altered…. no roms from sprint will work on vzw.

  • QBKing, I might be switching to Verizon when my contract with Sprint is up, I'm either getting the Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S3, if or when I do, will your tutorials still work for me? Or will switching carriers mean slightly altered devices?

  • Does anyone know when 4g lte will be available in New York???

  • Did the evolte and gs3 get factory data reset since the last time that you activated them on sprint? as in did you have your evo/gsiii on sprint and then put the gnex on your account(over the top of an existing activated evo/gs3 and not factory data reset either?) I'm just wondering because if it's similar to wimax than each device would have it's own key(clear wireless so secure).

  • has anyone experienced problems with 4G LTE on the Jelly bean rom? I downloaded the one that was linked in your previous video of how to install and When i switched the network mode to LTE/CDMA The same day i lost service completely and couldnt reactivate my phone, i had to get a replacement. Im wondering if that was just a random occurence or if it was the ROM. Also is 4G LTE only in the major cities that sprint released before? or is it in more areas than just that, thanks

  • No, he doesn't. If it doesn't say on the Sprint site, then no one knows.

  • 4G LTE is fully operational in Kansas City. They're out of the testing phase there.

  • Well, duh. Would you really expect one cell tower to cover half the country?

  • No, the speed tests wouldn't have worked

  • No, the speed tests wouldn't have worked

  • Yes, but it dies before it gets west enough to get to my state. (Cali)
