Where is Paul getting his analyst reports from?
“It’s either going to go up or it’s going to go down” haha
AMD is one of those companies whose stock was way out of control but they are certainly growing very fast. Your revenue growth assessments are way too conservative. Even if there's a downtick for a couple of quarters, it will shoot back up. I do not own AMD because it's too expensive but if it gets down to like a 30 P/E I have a hard time imagining this would be a poor purchase.
They just started buying back shares.
The biggest difference with intel and AMD is that AMD and nvidia "only" design their chips at then outsource the fabrication too TSMC, therefor higher margins naturally. Intel is going for all in house thats very expensive, too me thats a very high execution risk. AMD's risk is the good old china take over taiwan argument. ASML that make the high end lithography machines only Intel and TSMC are buying. So the big question can Intel turn into the TSMC of the west…..thats a big maybe. Chip design honestly AMD have really proven themselves over the years. Intel in my eyes are lagging behind.
Dont forget Playstation 5, xbox, the new steamdeck all run on amd chips. Hell even TSMC uses amd's epyc CPU's in their manufacturing facilities (fabs) Then there is the whole Xilinx business and leading in datacenters over intel.
3:08 Did he really just criticize share dilution for purchasing XLNX (which was income accretive), and then criticize buybacks… Which basically just offset the dilution. Lololol, these guys are a joke. They criticize the giant drop in share price and then don't realize that Lisa Sue took over and brought it back to life. All they do is look at charts but they don't understand the actual business… What a terrible investor mindset.
The INTC fabs in Ohio and Arizona are going to be a HUGE deal.
its very hard to judge semiconductor company having no clue about chips 🙂
AMD is an absolute buy.The assumptions are very low even if your being conservative just based on their guidance which they have a history of consistenly beating. Not a critiscm as people shouldnt expect you to do indepth research on every stock.
@4:54 you point out how AMD will grow earnings by over 50% in just four years but then say "that's not much of an increase…". Ruh what? How is a 50% EPS growth rate "not much of an increase"?! AMD has been around for a long time and there is no reason to think they are a 'growth company' any more as opposed to an established company that has maxed out most of it's growth and will now have to learn to cut costs and stay in their lane as a company. Just like Netflix cannot continue to grow subscribers by 20% year after year, there is no reason to expect an established company to grow 20% or more year after year.
that said, it seems everything in the world is using more and more chips every year and growth should be safe and steady, just not explosive.
I agree AMD is too expensive, but I can't understand your enthusiam for Intel. Not much growth, huge investments ahead that diminuish profit in the next couple of years, an inferiour product and a CEO who gets paid potentially 180 Million bucks?
The real question here is were you guys smart enough to buy and hold AMD around $2 back in 2016?
In a low interest rate environment or should be higher. Amd has been able to gain market share continuously in the past 4 years. They are kinging ass in data center where the margins are the highest. The addressable market is huge and they have been excellent at execution and have raised guidance every year. 30x earnings is 120 per share but if the revised their guidance the stock could go to 150. They did not have enough capacity to meet demand but it is changing this year. It’s not cheap but it is an extremely well run company.
Amd is in process of finalizing xilinx take over, why is not mentioned in this video. This is very shallow analysis, not to mention various technology areas like cloud where intel is jot moving and amd is running big.
Not many aspects of semi conductor industry has not been touched. Buy following their philosophy you will never be able to buy TSLA or apple in early days,
<Excited for Tesla's future.Should I buy before split or after split? Too hard to decide. I‘ll do both.>
are you guys buying NIO ?
Take you please take a look at some bank stocks, such as a JP Morgan…? Thanks you for doing that :))
Can you do a update on WBA after recent drop to 43 $ after earnings ?
Could you do more videos on: the basics of financial markets? for instance, there are so many videos explaining certain rations (PE, PEG, etc.) but nobody really explains what they mean in reality and how to apply them (this very video had some of that, which is great!) Also, would be great to see some videos for long-term investments and ETFs.
I bought some wba yesterday on the dip. What do you guys think. Thanks for the videos
AMD is expensive because they make GPUs (Graphics Processing Unit). I am a software developer currently doing my master's in Computer Science, and we use matrix multiplication almost in all of our subjects, Computer Vision, DeepLearning, Parallel Programming, Game Engines, you name it. All of them, heavily use matrix multiplication. Unless and until, quantum computers are in the market (not happening until the next decade), GPUs are our only hope. We can't even do our assignments without GPUs. GPU hardware are specially designed to do fast matrix multiplication. As metaverse, AR/VR, Gaming, machine learning, Robotics et. cetera take over the world, GPUs will be the only thing which will power them.
Just to give a perspective, when you press the arrow keys, to move car in NFS, all that happens inside is one matrix multiplication to determine the new position and orientation of the car on your screen. That is why you need that 4 GB GPU card to play graphic heavy games.
I will wait for it to fall down though both AMD and NVIDIA.
“As the market continues to decline.”
Bold prediction.
Can you guys please make a video on Tesla, about their stock split and their rise.. Tesla stock has crossed $1k and is back to a trillion dollar marekt cap
I wonder what the best opportunities to invest now are, there are opinions but a little later I find out these opinions don't matter as a totally different turn of events play out with the stocks they discussed therein…
Could you please analyze a company that is in a good range to buy at the moment? Does that even exist right now?
