I'd love to switch to Firefox, but it's always been noticeably slower on every platform I've tried it on, not to mention being more of a battery hog, especially on Mac. Strangely enough, Edge has given me the best experience on macOS in terms of performance, battery life, and overall functionality. I also appreciate how seamless it is going between macOS and Windows because I switch between these platforms on virtually a daily basis.
use chrome because v8 engine is frkn fast boi also those experimental dev tools and js apis are always good. also blink is the best rendering engine there as far as consistency and lack of bugs
My new MacBook Pro will be delivered in just three days. I’m completely convinced, and will absolutely be making the switch. I’m definitely excited to step I into my “Arc” era. Not exclusively but certainly the majority of the time if it turns out like I’m expecting it to. Thanks for the recommendation, Mac Address!
bro this browser is complicated. we just use what we used to
if arc becomess popular, i can proudly say that i used it before release.
So basically Microsoft Edge?
Google hater
Safari is the worst engine ever.
Apple slaves are gonna say safari only .
The reason i dont like arc is because its chromium based and it means that it has big battery consumption. SigmaOS is a really good alternative that came before arc, runs on webkit but supports chrome extensions.
Anyone who needs a browser with good Developer Tools needs to see how those dev tools work. Chrome has all of the basic tools needed to make debugging websites simple and easy. Microsoft Edge does too, but it's not as well done. Firefox does too and a lot of developers will flip between Firefox and Chrome. Maybe Safari does, but – even though I use a MacBook for work – I don't use Safari except on rare occassion.
This video is all about everyone that doesn't care about the code behind the website. If all you need is a window into the web, then this video covers that.
A developer needs to have full visibility to the address bar, easy ways to emulate various devices/screen sizes, see the details of network traffic, inspect elements and their attributes and make changes on the fly to test out how it affects UI/UX, see and manipulate cookies, local storage and session data… and so on. None of that is covered in this video about Arc.
So would I change to Arc? Not based on this video because, for all I know, Arc has none of these developer tools. Why would I go research if it does and how it works if Chrome and Firefox are already doing a great job covering that for me – on top of the normal browsing stuff I do?
finally, ya'll hopping on the arc gang lets go!
Mhe Brave 4the win no account ned free sync no ads password manager no spyin and cross platform
Arc has become my main browser since its first closed beta, and oh man was I right thinking it could be the perfect alternative to Chrome and Safari. You can actually read a tab's title if you have many tabs opened, having spaces is more like having chrome profiles but without having to deal with two windows, and pinned tabs are very useful (especially Youtube, mails and the Excel document I'm currently working in on Google Sheets). Also, you can customize every single website to your likings, and since it's based on Chromium you have compatibiloty with every extension.
Idk I don't see a whole lot of new features. A lot of these features are actually available in Edge. I feel like people don't realize how many features microsoft packed into Edge.
Google doesn't have control over Chromium…or I mean Chromium doesn't have Google Services.
Can't use it without account lmao.
If Arc can give the address bar at top. So we can see the full link, useful if in case there is link forwarding which leads to additional forwarding to sketchy websites.
That is the only pet peeve i have for Arc.
I use MS Edge on pc and safari on my phone
6:40 Lol moment especially Apple choose over using Google's chromium ..amd you all knew how it is going on this times..Are they even know what they are doing ..upon bieng relying on rivals😂
I’m a Firefox user and I would switch to Arc if it wasn’t just stuck on MacOS
"I don't use Firefox because it doesn't have [feature that Firefox actually has]." They probably haven't used Firefox in so long that they think it's frozen in time. To their credit, it was, but that seems like a long time ago. Not a fan of Arc's vertical tabs. Never liked that positioning. And paying for a browser? It would have to have features significantly better than their free counterparts for that consideration. Wew.
