  • In a Linux comradeship, Windows users are considered novice, and its the same community that suggests Windows users to switch to Linux that was never meant to be a desktop operating system. This is ironic and for most new Linux users, the affair with the Tux is pretty much over when they want to install a software not bundled with the distort. Enter The Terminal.

  • I am 65 years old and yesterday, after much hesitation, I made the decision to install Linux on an older laptop.

At first everything seemed to work perfectly. Then I discovered that I absolutely could not activate my Bluetooth adapter.

After some research it turned out that this is a common problem in Linux. I am therefore disappointed with the hype surrounding this operating system

  • Windows 10 already sent all your keystrokes if you did not turn off the feature to improve input. So it is not that much worse just way more in your face. It's like if we are already doing it why hide it anymore, right?

  • When we are finally getting good arm based laptops, windows had to do this to us, ….good content again though

  • If Logitech GHub was available on Linux I'd be long gone from Windows

  • Well… I'm using Linux for work. And I use windows machine mostly to play games and watch prn. GL MS to sell my DOTA / CS replays and xhamster surfing 😉

  • I use NixOS but I agree with Linux Mint for anyone new.

  • western companies: BAN CHINA THEY TRY TO STEAL YOUR INFO…. heres Recall btw

  • Soon, Windows users will struggle more with Windows while trying to avoid and disable settings they don't like. Struggle more than Linux users. That's actually bad when you can't just exist in your pc without updates, but still love Windows and all those memories that Windows gave me

  • Switched a couple of weeks ago, won’t be going back. I had a full retail windows 8 Pro key, they said it was no longer valid for win 10 after using it since 2016. Had to sign in to a Microsoft account to get at my own pc That finished me with them, have dumped Hotmail and Windows 10. Also dumped all things Google except YouTube. Viva Linux!

  • For newbies, including folks like me, (over 20 year user), run Mint. LMDE is great too since it doesn't rely on Ubuntu ….

  • A lot of people are staying on Windows 10 it's too early for Valve to pull the plug on it because they JUST discontinued Windows 7 and 8 I bet you didn't know you could of gotten away with one more year of Steam on Windows 7 in 2023 according to rumors Windows 10 End of Life is going to work differently. I still need Windows for specific emulators that don't work on Linux that I happen to like and I can mod using Windows like it or not I still rely on ToadsTool for some modifications on Super Mario 64. Remain calm you don't have to update to 24H2 and 23H2 is still going to be good enough with more support it's quite POSSIBLE Microsoft is going to give up on Windows Recall all together because they just got into a legal dispute just like Cortana it will end in failure and be deprecated please remain calm we got this under control.

  • If u want to use windows u can use LTSC versions cause its 0 windows service just the Microsoft Defender and some of updates but its just fresh windows with no other stupid services

  • I've been using linux mint for a few months now and my favorite thing about it is… How boring and easy to use is.

Mint is simple, like Windows 7. No useless weather, 3D, News, and Xbox software. You can install Chrome if you dont like Firefox, and Libreoffice which is FREE. And you're set. Like, most people just use a laptop nowadays to take notes in class, and make a spreadsheet.

Mint is amazing for office work. And FREE
