T-mobile 4G LTE Cellspot Review

A review of T-Mobile’s cellspot (femtocell) home cell tower, manufactured by Alcatel-Lucent. I really like it. It’s worth the $25 deposit, and it my experience you can have it and the ASUS Personal Cellspot wireless router, which i still use for my main traffic hub.

Runs LTE on AWS band 4, and UMTS @ 1900 mhz.

  • I have t mobile arcadyan 5g gateway and 2 t-mobile cell phones the gateway is slow 🐌 would it help or make it worse

  • How long did it blink green in the power when you first started to set it up

  • I have a similar model with out all the wires just the power cord, and I was told by a techy : that with a cell phone in the house that has an unlimited data plan, I could some how set that phone to have my pc receive  an internet signal via the phone using the Cellspot .If that makes sense ?

  • can I use this as a wifi router?

  • does anyone know if i can buy one and use it with metro pcs? im trying
to boost my cellular signal inside my room so i can tether at faster
speeds. obviously ,i dont have land line internet,is that required? if
so,ill have to pay for an expensive signal repeater…i hope to avoid
    this.
p.s. ,i did get a 1 bar boost by placing a small piece of alluminum
under the battery, no lie, lol. between 15-20 db boost from that alone.

  • CAN i use this outside USA ??? AND can i flash the ASUS 68U firmware on this and use it outside USA ??

  • Set up was easy, but I thought it said to put in a room with least electronics. However, it appears to need to be hard-wired to the internet modem, so have to keep it in room with all my other electronics. Yes/No?

  • did the cellspot slow down your home internet? we got one bc i was tired of using wifi calling but now that we have the cellspot the service is good but it slowed our internet down to where we can't use our chromecast and netflix.

  • what router are you using for Comcast?

  • So to be clear, you use your phone setting on WiFi so you don't use all your data too quickly? That's what tmobile told me to do, phone on WiFi setting but internal setting on cellular preferred. Is that right?

  • When you turn off the WiFi inside your house and just use your regular 4G LTE data with the 4G LTE Cellspot does it use your ISP internet data or your high speed data from T-Mobile or both how does that work? I heard it uses your high speed data from T-Mobile but idk.

  • on my second unit and have not got either one of them to register all I get is a blinking green power light

  • Mine (4G LTE Cellspot) stopped working after about two weeks, T-mobile has no idea what's going on.

  • I wish you would've done a speed test before and after

  • JEEZ DUDE! Wires like whoa.
Seriously, what's up with all the cords everywhere?
