The Curbside Celeron PC

During my first hiatus (2019 – 2020) I had many ideas for a channel reboot.
Leaving wasn’t my decision.
Ultimately i decided to embrace what I used to do just.. better.
But I never forgot those ideas
I wrote them down.. Tied them together.
These are those ideas.

I intend WGE to continue past this point as it has previously to the best of my current, or future ability.
With that being said.. when I can’t.. when this all comes to an end one way or another I hope you found some sort of comfort or enjoyment in this thing I created.
No matter what future fate has for me, just know I love you, whoever you are. I always will. I wouldn’t have gotten this far without you.

  • how does bro find a pc on the ground 💀🥺💀

i’ve been searching trash cans for 2 hours and haven’t even found food

  • Why not upgrade it to a Northwood P4 with hyperthreading?

  • Honestly, keep at working on your craft if you like doing the videos. It took me a few years back in the late 90's to get decent with IT stuff and here we are years later and I still hate Billy Gates just like I did then.

  • Im new here but your content is literally the best plz dont quit

  • Hey Snoopie, I read the text at the end of the video, and I have got to say please hang in there. I know we don't know each other, but even so, your videos and you yourself really etched onto me over the past year and a half I have been watching you. Even in that short time, I noticed your absence and wished for your return. Please know that you have value. People wouldn't have subscribed to your channel or joined your Discord if that wasn't true. It's obviously fine if you want to take a break, but please pop your head in and say hi or nya every once in a while. 🙃

  • Good to see you back in the game, enjoy the video right now, hope you are well hun.

  • Like many others have said before me, I'm glad you're back and still uploading videos. Stay well, there's people (like me) that enjoy your content (even the older season 2 videos. It's interesting seeing how far you've come).

That being said, I asked on another video already, but could you tell me what song you used in both your YouTube on old iOS videos (and the 1st gen iPad jailbreak video)? Please help it's been living rent free for ages-

  • Reminds me of finding a Compaq Presario SR1228AN while walking through my neighborhood, while I wanted it, I felt they still kinda cared, and I was too scared to ask, after multiple days, and a few walks, I saw them taking the trash out and asked them if I can take it, and they said of course, so I took it home carrying everything else too, keyboard, mouse, and monitor, carrying all that with my barehands from their house to mine left me aching, and the pc had no ram, but it was worth it

  • By the way, as a second message, the themes in the background of feeling like you're already in hell or dead or that you are a ghost or a shell of yourself and stuff like that, I feel similar, the fact that I didn't know who I was for the longest of time, the fact my early life was blissful before it crumpled before my eyes, the fact that I have done horrible things to people that I probably will never forgive myself for, and the fact that a particular trio of actions during one year has made me wonder why I am still here and if I can ever trust my actions ever again. I feel like I died that year, and I am a ghost walking this earth. But I keep going, because I am terrified of the end, as much as I want it, and I still at the very least want to acheive what I want and see if bliss is still possible again, despite everything, despite what happened to me and what I did.

That's how I relate to things I suppose with the this video, it just feels similar how things feel, and I hope things get a lot better for you snoopi! ❤

  • the reason apk is missing is most likely because it is probably not found by normal user or not supporting normal users to be able to launch it, you need to use su and get into the root shell and then run apk there.

  • isnt it apt instead of apk on debian? Or is your system just so old?

  • I’m just wondering, how do you get that retro VHS effect? I’ve worked out the video side, using NTSCqt, but how do you get the audio side? Is it recorded onto an actual VHS tape?

  • Snoopie, the next time you try to install Linux on a 32 bit machine, try antiX. I have been using it in really old library computers and it's hassle free for those 32 bit machines.

  • networks not working, hasn't plugged the cable in, everytime bro, everytime XD……………….. great video

  • I don't think it locked up, I think xorg was not doing input correctly…

  • you should try minecraft release 1.2.5 on these old systems.

  • I saw a little 5% overclock sneak in partway through the video. If you think the computer's slow you should see how much further you can overclock it. But it's really not that bad. IIRC my workstation laptop from 2008 (T61p) was only getting around 25fps so 15fps on a much slower CPU isn't too bad.

  • u sould build a pc with only scrap parts and host a mc server also great vid!

  • When you get frustrated you can always touch the open power delivery on the board.

  • How have I never seen this channel before? Awesome production quality and I love the Socket 478 love – an era of computing that has been somewhat forgotten. That's an awesome case you used as well!

  • im watching this while downloading an os file (it takes like 30 more minutes as i write this)

  • omg thank you for this ma'am (? mx'xm?)!!! god I wanna make a MiniDisc from your tracklist, this all goes so hard

  • Snoopie, I don't think you're gonna get your deposit back for that Post-Ex truck you went on a joy ride with, caused over a million usd in damage, and did, as one person mentioned, "tricks off the top of a building with it"…..

  • My chromebook 2.80 ghz celeron n4500 with 4gb ram gets 20-25 fps semi-steadily in minecraft 1.20.4 at 5-chunk render/simulation distance and default settings elsewhere. Great video, I'm a new viewer.

  • WOOHOO Glad to see you uploaded a new video and its always fun to see someone struggle with Linux lol. Those boutique distros are always a pain in the ass lol. You should have just went out and grabbed Debian, they still provide images you can use on a 32bit CPU and work much better out of the box.
Also keep your head up and always know that no mater what happens and how crap you think life is going you gotta love yourself and know that your important to someone even if that someone is you. I went though some tough times in my life and even struggled to figure out who I was and who I wanted to be but life goes on and it gets better down the road. 🙂

  • This reminds me of finding an old IBM at the bus stop. Unfortunately,it was JUST a case and motherboard. Part of me wanted to take it home and see if it could be a Minecraft server.

  • I've tried adelie linux on my G5 dual, and that's really broken, also the installer! Plz try something better, for example some debian's like distros
